Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9. 2026
Maepl Home, Inc., doing business as Cura ("Cura," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through curahalo.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. This Policy applies to the Site and our order/checkout process. It does not apply to the Halo Button™ device or the Cura mobile app, which are governed by a separate policy.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
- Contact and order information: name, email address, shipping/billing address, phone number, and payment information when you join the waitlist, place a $1 reservation, or purchase a product. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Shopify Payments and/or Stripe, as applicable) — we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: information you provide when you email us or contact customer support.
- Marketing preferences: your email (and phone number, if provided) when you sign up for updates, and your consent status for marketing communications. Cura does not currently send SMS/text marketing messages; if that changes, we will obtain separate consent and update this Policy.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including:
- Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers)
- Usage data (pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring/exit pages)
- Approximate location (inferred from IP address)
Information from Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which may collect information on our behalf or independently:

|---|---|---|
| Shopify | E-commerce platform, order processing, checkout | Order, payment, and account information |
| Meta Pixel & Conversions API (CAPI) | Advertising measurement and ad targeting on Meta platforms | Browsing/event data; hashed contact info (e.g., email, phone) for matching |
| Google Analytics | Website traffic and usage analytics | Usage data, device/browser data, approximate location |
| Mailchimp | Email marketing and automation | Email address, name, engagement data (opens/clicks), purchase history (if synced) |
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure performance, and support advertising. You can manage your choices around the sharing of your information for targeted advertising at any time using the Data Sharing Opt-Out link in the Site footer. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process orders, reservations, and payments
- Provide customer support
- Send transactional and marketing communications (with your consent, where required)
- Measure and improve Site performance and content
- Deliver and measure the effectiveness of advertising, including via Meta and Google
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share information with:
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including Shopify (order/payment processing), our shipping carriers, and Mailchimp (email).
- Advertising partners, including Meta and Google, to measure and deliver advertising. This may include sharing hashed (not plain-text) contact information, such as a hashed email or phone number, for ad matching and measurement purposes (e.g., via Meta Conversions API). [Confirm final language with Reed/attorney once ad-data-sharing practices are finalized — flagged open on the Shopify punch list.]
- Legal and safety purposes, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cura, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to process your order, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. [Insert specific retention periods once confirmed — e.g., order records retained for X years for tax/accounting purposes; marketing email data retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.]
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and other U.S. state privacy laws, to:
- Know/access the personal information we have collected about you
- Delete personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information or targeted advertising
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise your right to know, delete, or correct your information, contact us at privacy@curahalo.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request.
To opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising (which may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under certain state laws), use the opt-out button on our Data Sharing Opt-Out page, available to customers in states with applicable privacy laws. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signals where legally required.
Cura currently ships and sells within the United States only, so this Policy does not include GDPR-specific provisions (legal basis for processing, international transfers, EU representative). If Cura begins selling internationally, this section will need to be revisited.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.
Data Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. [Insert specific encryption/security details once received from Reed — outstanding since the July 1 call.]
Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
